Nominees:

Boys:

Jazz Keys – Football – Northmont High School

Outstanding young man/true team leader

Luke Combs – Soccer – Valley View High School

Luke has been a 2 year captain, a leader and motivator. He did not miss a single off season weight lifting or training. He encourages the younger players, helped run a youth camp and a great person to model yourself after

Justus Thomas – Golf – Northmont High School

Justus is a senior at Northmont High School.  He plays golf and basketball for the Thunderbolts.  Justus is currently seeking his third consecutive varsity letter as part of the golf team.  He has had career-best performances in two of our first three matches of the season. He posted scores of 87 at the Urbana Invitational, and the Greenville Invitational.  This propelled the Thunderbolts to a third-place finish at Urbana and a team championship at Greenville. Justus is a leader on and off the course and in the classroom. He takes advanced level classes, and college credit plus classes.  He is in the running to be a valedictorian in his class. He is dependable, on time, and always has a positive attitude. After the recent tornadoes devastated our home course of Meadowbrook at Clayton, Justus was one of a few players who volunteered several hours over two days to help the clean-up efforts.  He has also routinely volunteered time at our annual Northmont Junior Golf Clinic. Justus has intangible qualities that let anyone he meets know that he is on a path for success in the future. He is one of the hardest workers, on the course, on the court, in the classroom, and in the community that I have ever met.  Please consider Justus for athlete of the week.

Brendan Siehl – Golf – Northmont High School

Brendan is a senior at Northmont High School.  He has quickly become a leader on the golf course and among his teammates.  Brendan is currently playing the best golf of his high school career. In three events so far, Brendan has posted rounds of 83 (Urbana Invitational), 76 (Miamisburg Invitational), and 77 (Greenville Invitational) which helped his team to a third-place finish (Urbana), fourth-place finish (Miamisburg), and a team championship at Greenville.  Brendan’s power, accuracy, and soft-touch around the greens are helping him have the best season of his high school golf career. Brendan is currently seeking his second consecutive varsity letter in golf. He is a returning member of the varsity baseball team, and he plays competitive amateur hockey at a very high level. Brendan volunteered time to clean debris and damaged caused by the tornadoes at Meadowbrook at Clayton Golf Course.

  • Brendan currently has a 9 hole scoring average under 40 for the season.

Girls:

Taylor Pritchett – Soccer – Northmont High School

Taylor is a 4 year varsity player and captain this year.  Taylor works hard on and off the field carrying a 4.0 G.P.A.

Julianna (JJ) Herron – Cross Country – Miamisburg High School

JJ will be a four year letter winner in both CC and Track her Senior year. She has helped lead the CC and track distance relay teams the last three years to record breaking times and high finishes at league and OHSAA competitions. She has been the most consistent and top runner in her class since she began running in 7th grade. Demonstrates great leadership and is an extremely hard worker. JJ had a bout with Mono last Spring and early Summer that set her back in training.  She took time away as directed and got back at it as soon as she was healthy, worked hard and is very close to her best times. She is a four year member of Student Government and French Club. I have personally watched her grow over the past four years as a runner, sister, and daughter. I am constantly amazed on how hard she works in the classroom (phenomenal student), at her sports, her job, and being able to balance all of her activities. Remarkable young lady and leader to say the least.

Jacqueline Fox – Volleyball – Valley View High School

Great leader on and off the court.  Strong OH hitter for our volleyball team, play club in the off-season, in NHS, and always has a good, positive attitude.

Savannah Myers – Volleyball – Valley View High School

Great kid who always includes everyone.  She is a great utility player for us this season as we can plug her in for multiple positions and she is a great leader on and off the court.
